As the Russian-Ukrainian war enters its second year, which is taking place along the Polish-Ukrainian border, Poland is taking additional steps and precautions to strengthen its defensive capabilities against a possible Russian invasion into Poland.

According to Glen Van Herck, who is the NORTHCOM general, the Chinese reconnaissance balloon was around two-hundred-feet in height, and with a payload that was the size of a jetliner, weighing "in excess of a couple thousand-pounds."
Apparently, according to the general, the payload included photographic material, and possible explosives that would had been used to destroy the balloon should a government or military capture the balloon.
According to Joe Biden, who is the United States President, "once it [Chinese reconnaissance balloon] came over to the United States—from Canada—I told the Defense Department I wanted to shoot it down as soon as it was appropriate."
However, "they [Defense Department] concluded we should not shoot it down over land, [because] it was not a serious threat."
When a reporter asked Joe Biden why China would conduct such a brazen action to float a reconnaissance balloon over the United States, Joe Biden replied, "they're the Chinese."

For several days, a Chinese spy balloon has been hovering over Montana and the northern United States, spying on the United States.
According to the United States Pentagon, the United States government has said it has been monitoring the spy balloon; and, according to the United States Pentagon, Joe Biden wanted to use fighter jets to destroy the balloon.
However, because of falling debris, the Pentagon advised Joe Biden not to destroy the balloon.
"The United States government... ...is tracking a high-altitude surveillance balloon that is over the continental United States right now," stated a Pentagon spokesman.
In response to the spy balloon, the United States State Department summoned the Chinese ambassador.
