UNITED STATES DOWNS CHINESE SPY BALLOON OVER ALASKA
According to the United States government, the United States just downed another Chinese reconnaissance balloon just a few minutes ago, but, this time, over Alaska.
Today, during a White House press briefing, John Kirby, who is the United States' National Security Council coordinator for strategic communications, told reporters and journalists that United States fighter jets shot down a "high altitude object" that was over Alaska airspace.
According to John Kirby, the United States downed the object with an F-22 Raptor fighter jet near the Canadian border over frozen water in the Artic Ocean, because the object, which was flying around forty-two-thousand-feet [42,000-feet], "posed a threat to civilian air traffic."
Now, the United States military is over the crash site, trying to recover debris and intelligence from the object.

According to the United States Pentagon, the Chinese reconnaissance balloon that flew over the entire United States—coast to coast—had equipment capable of monitoring communications within the United States; however, according to the Pentagon, the United States took steps to avoid unencrypted communications in the balloon's vicinity.
Furthermore, according to a senior administration official, the reconnaissance balloon had Western-made components with English-language written on their components and parts.
